The foot is the primary shock absorber in the body, followed second by the knee. The 28 bones in the foot locks and fixate just as regularly as any other joint in the body. This normally creates pronation of the foot, flat foot. A flat foot decreases the ability of the foot to absorb shock when walking and running.

This will further transfer too much force into the knee, which do not have the structure to deal with it, and knee problems will follow. Also the back will take more hits than usual creating back pain all the way up the spine and neck. Even some headaches have been shown to come on as a result of foot dysfunction.

Normal orthotics are molded to the dysfunctional feet. But what good is this, if the orthotic is a perfect fit to an already dysfunctional foot?

Chiropractors adjust the foot over a few weeks making it functional before moulding the orthotic to the FUNCTIONAL new foot. Helping the foot to stay in its correct functional position.
